DISCLAIMER: Not in Our Enugu State!

We have gotten inboxes and messages regarding the obviously viral video associating our lovely First Lady Mrs Ugwuanyi with UNICEF’s Tippy Tap.. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). The pix for some reason missed the point of the message.. the importance of hand washing and hygiene. While UNICEF is promoting hand washing even to the poorest of the poor, the rickety pix of sticks, plastic and stones convey negative message that is coloring the good work of His Excellency Gov Ugwuanyi’s administration. 

 The photo op must not and should not be misconstrued as a promotion of the rickety rather a genuine UNICEF program about the importance of hygiene through constant and persistent hand washing. The handlers of Her Excellency did not put out the best footing in thinking through the effect of such pix and the obvious push back. The mistake is on the handlers and such should not happen in the future. 

 There are better ways to showcase hand washing without resorting to the very basic and primitive. It would have been a good time to showcase the good work of Enugu State Govt and at the same time promote the importance of hygiene irrespective of UNICEF. Enugu is not that poor. Folks, lets situate this mistake where it belongs and continue to support GburuGburu Cos Enugu State is still in d hands of God!
