HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A GREAT  LEADER-  A LION OF NDIGBO Some are born great, few achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.   His Excellency, Deputy Senate President, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu fits into the middle of the few among modern Igbo leaders who have achieve greatness by sheer dedication, focus hard work and tenacity of a man who did not forget where he came from and why he was sent to Abuja. Despite his party losing at the center, IkeOha Ndigbo still maintained his top position of the leadership in the National Assembly and the in process becoming the longest serving Deputy Senate President in Nigeria.   Our own DSP led the South East Caucus of Senate in collaboration and cooperation with others secured the immediate and timely release of our brother Maazi Ndubuisi Kanu.  This single feat diffused the wrong notion that Igbo is not united.  The ridiculous bail was not just met but was met at a record time The great IkeOha has been a reliable ally and

GLOOMY AND UNRECOGNIZABLE FACES AT CHIME'S DEFECTION RALLY

PICURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS The wise saying that a picture is worth thousand words came to light at the badly organized rented crowd that graced the lone defection of former Governor of Enugu State, Barrister Sullivan Chime. The pictures are so gloomy that you cannot recognize the faces.  This was done on purpose so as to disguise the rented crowd as the people of Udi made strong decision to stay with the incumbent Gov. Ugwuanyi.  Take a look at each of the picture and see if you can find     anybody you know  Do you recognize any of the faces   Do you recognize any of the faces   Do you recognize any of the faces   Do you recognize any of the faces   Do you recognize any of the faces   Do you recognize any of the faces   Do you recognize any of the faces Gov. Chime has boosted of thousands of supporters pestering him to make the tepid political move but on the day of defection sadly only Chime and Chime himself made the lonely defect

GOV. CHIME: GOING LOCAL & GOING OPPOSITION

Image
Obori Adaka D riving into Udi town, the hometown of His Excellency, former Governor of Enugu State, Barrister Sullivan Chime leaves no one in doubt of the preparation for a big event.  The primary school adjacent to Chime’s sprawl compound is being decked out in canopies of various colors and sizes.  The seamless transition which started with a facebook post is coming to head as the D-day arrived for Gov. Chime to formally declare and register in APC right in his hometown of Udi Kpomkwem, his political ward of Udi/Agbudu, his Udi local government area of Enugu State where he held sway as Governor for 8 solid years.  Congratulations Gov. Chime for exiting the space for your successor. Remarkably, today’s event is going to be historic in the sense that Gov.  Chime is not only surprisingly subscribing to the popular American saying that All Politics is Local , aptly said in 1935 by American former House Speaker, Hon. Tip O’neill during his campaign for the house seat; also Gov

The entire Egede City was thrown into a carnival mood atmosphere, superbly choreographed with neatly-packaged programs and activities to mark the Traditional Wedding celebration of our daughter, Ada Boston, Ada Chief Peter Okwesili & his wife, Ezinne Osodieme Jacinta. *The entire Egede City took* a vacation from their daily chores to join in the revelry. As Chief Dr. Peter Okwesili is known to do, it was a party-galore in Egede. The gate at his two-story Egede mansion was thrown wide open. In fact, un

GBURUGBURU @ 53: A CELEBRATION OF BENEVOLENCE, CHARITY & PRISON.....by Obori Adaka

When Mr. Amoke, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to His Excellency Gov. Ugwuanyi stated that his 53rd birthday calls for celebration in thanksgiving and appreciation to God for his mercies and kindness to the governor and the people of Enugu State.  When Mr. Amoke touted his sterling qualities of visionary leader with uncommon disposition toward alleviating the sufferings of the poor and underprivileged, describing our beloved Governor as God-fearing personality whose intellectual ability, humility, simplicity, benevolence and penchant for peace and respect stands him out as an epitome of success.  When Mr. Amoke called the Governor a leader committed to charity and alms giving flavored with philanthropic gestures of kindness and empathy which provide succor to the poor, vulnerable and downtrodden.  All these are perfect in the mold of GburuGburu we know.  However, little did it register that there is more to this 53rd birthday than meets the eyes.  Little did anybody figure

S ome are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrusted upon them. So said Shakespeare, however it takes continuous struggle with sheer determination, persistence, perseverance and above all, hard work to eventually achieve greatness. Today, one of our own has achieved greatness And as such we are celebrating the greatness of a young man born into a modest background, a young man who by combination of hard work deployment of his business acumen to the delight of our people and appreciation of one of our citadel of academia.  We are celebrating the greatness of a philanthropist who stood with Adam Smith when he opined that it is not just the benevolence of the entrepreneur that drives him but the wealth creation for the benefits of immediate and wider communities that propel capitalism. We are celebrating the greatness of an experienced contractor a consummate businessman who recently came to our rescue at the 9th Mile by-pass taking over from s
