The Coronavirus and its Covid-19 pandemic ravaging the world calls for a moment of
charity and giving to our own people who by no fault of theirs were summoned to stay off
work and stay at home to curb the spread of the deadly virus.

Despite government intervention there is a growing need for us to do more for ourselves
and our people. There is a strong need for us to close rank irrespective of our political

For these reasons, barely two weeks ago, without lengthy discussion the
COVID-19 Quartet in the names of Hon. Chuka Akunne, Hon. Stanley Anyadi,
Dr. KUK Ekwueme and Dr. Eze Sunny Udeh joined hands and launched EGEDE
COVID RELIEF FUND and started raising money to buy food items for our beloved
Egede people.

As at today, we are chasing our third million as Umu-Egede world over have responded in
kind. We have received actual donations in cash, not pledges from every part of the world
including Nigeria. The response has been overwhelming and encouraging, reminding us
of the enduring unity in our Egede community.

In a few days we will draw the curtain and move to the implementation phase. However,
before then we will want to appeal to each and every one of you, our Egede people,
and friends of Egede wherever you may be to please come to our aid. Please help reach
our goal of making sure that no Egede man, woman or child goes hungry during this
